Yes, I started the ESL 5 years ago and it's going strong. Very different than WSL as we exist in a smaller rural community of Connecticut where most players have kids, but it still has aspects that make it more appealing than your traditional slow pitch softball beer league. And Pat did come out for one game, it was great to see him (still a baller). Miss you too man, thanks again for the trip down memory lane!
I LOVE this story! So funny and wise! I can testify that getting hit in the boob by a line drive softball is the equivalent of losing one's nuts. Can't wait for your next piece!
As a former centerfielder who "retired" from their softball league in my early 40s, this rang so true of much of what I saw. Wonderful insights, Steve! Thank you!
Fun read Skro, brought back a lot of good memories (and some forgettable ones).
Thanks, Ryan. Michael tells me you've started your own version on the East Coast. Including Pat Sims. Is that right? Miss you.

This one made my hamstring hurt. I totally enjoyed the read. Thank you!
Thanks, Michelle! Alternate ice and heat.
Skro, this piece is so good, it's time Katz names a shoe after you.
I like that. A pair of Skro's.

Thanks, you Sally!... And sorry about your boob.

Thank you, Brendon. I can see you as a speedy centerfielder after you blew past me in the Quadrathalon.
Skro, Great story, I think when you finally retire, 15 or so years from now, You can become a scout for some other old timers league.
Thanks, Steve. But by then probably my eyes will be shot.
I don’t really like baseball but this was fun!
Thank you, Tina. That means a lot. You got that it's really about dealing with aging.
